With the presentation of LITECOM, its new digital lighting management system, Zumtobel, a provider of integrated lighting solutions, will set a new milestone in building control systems at Light + Building 2014. The control system’s level of flexibility is made possible by mivune Operating System.

Zumtobel set itself the goal of developing a new generation of lighting control system that meets a building’s requirements throughout its life cycle, reduces integration processes to a minimum and is highly intuitive in use.
During the development of LITECOM, the Austrian lighting manufacturer combined its knowledge with expertise from the areas of building automation and ICT.
The flexibility of the system, which allows lighting solutions to be created, controlled and monitored on an individual basis, was one of the basic requirements that had to be met. mivune created the open interfaces for the integrated and adaptive lighting control system with incorporation of its operating system.
The lighting management system is linked to the different building technology levels via the interfaces. They allow for data access; thus the customer-specific web interfaces and protocols are integrated and the system is made accessible to the building control technology. Various fieldbus drivers, automated services and applications can also be integrated, which means that LITECOM can be used across systems; i.e. in combination with other control units. Users can also program their own apps and use them within the system, making LITECOM a customised control system capable of meeting future requirements and customer-specific wishes at all times.
